Rich and the son-in-law painted all the ceilings in the house and our daughter and I got a coat of color on the kitchen and two walls of the living room...

It's really hard to see the correct color in these photos... It's a Lowe's Valspar color called Creamy Oat...it's a not-as-pale-as-I-would-like yellow..
I am heading out there tonight and will put the final coat on the kitchen in the morning. Kitchen cabinets start going in on Monday....

I'm not sure about leaving that recessed area yellow.....what will you be putting on the shelves in that space? Maybe knowing what will GO there will help you decide if the area should be white or yellow.
Like Pat said, it might help to know what's going on the shelves.. but then again, if you are putting white shelves in there whatever it is should stand out nicely. We have a similar paint in our house w/white trim. Nice job....
